This lavender reflection somehow makes the world a little softer.......

September 28th, 2010

With no clouds and dense ocean mist, there was no promise of an exciting sunset. But, still, isn't it interesting that it always fulfills it's function; that of helping us let go of the day's anxieties.

September 27th, 2010

We did try to track down the sunset through the fog, but in vain. S0 this picture was taken down at the Port of Gold Beach, the night before last. The vibrant reflection on those quiet ripples was a compelling combination.

September 26th, 2010

An electric hot pink swirl was visible above all that gray fog, once we got up high enough......Most of Gold Beach was engulfed in a haze, and missed this lovely Sunset!

September 25th, 2010

The leisurely pace of this pristine fall evening was so inviting; it is an unexpected lull, which for us up here resembles an Indian Summer. A sunset enjoyed to the max....

September 24th, 2010

There was a short fog-bank sunset tonight, but I got there a minute too late; this view is from earlier this month, beautiful enough to more than make up for my tardy attempt.

Remember the king who could turn everything to gold with the "Midas Touch"? Doesn't it look like he touched this Sunset?

September 22nd, 2010

The few minutes spent watching the sun fall through this heavy length of cloud helped me to settle myself down for the evening. Sunset is a perfect wind-down time towards letting- go- of- the- day....

September 21st, 2010

Believe me, I wasn't the only one enthralled with this irresistible sunset; I overheard so many admiring comments!

September 20th, 2010

We tried to get to the sunset in time; it was dropping fast! So I just pulled over to a construction site and got my picture between the heavy equipment.

September 19th, 2010

If there was ever a time to set everything aside for a few minutes, it would be to look up in wonder at a sunset like this one!

September 17th, 2010

It's total rain and fog today, but actually very mild temperature-wise. But this morning, first thing, Tony called my attention to the sun-rise, and I was happy to run outside to take this picture!

September 16th, 2010

The energy surging through this intensely golden horizon is offset by the exquisitely flowing "fox tail," and those wispy little curls above it. So once again, we have a perfectly interwoven sunset....

September 15th, 2010

They say we have some rain on it's way, and looking at these huge clouds, I'm inclined to believe they're right.....

September 14th, 2010

This is a brighter version of the September 8th sunset; I missed tonight but am very satisfied with this substitute!

September 13th, 2010

Although sunset was less than spectacular as far as display, the time taken to leave everything and contemplate it was very refreshing. Our "every-day-variety" of sunsets are inherently unique, depending on where we are, what the setting is, how we are feeling, who we are with, what's going on, even how much of an effort we made to get there..... and a thousand other aspects that set the mood. No wonder they never get boring!

September 12th, 2010

We were privileged to behold this exceptional sunset tonight, a gorgeous spectacle that lasted quite a long time.

September 11th, 2010

Isn't this different? The dusky tail-end of a lovely evening.

September 10th, 2010

This is just a reflection of our sunset, but I had to choose this pastel Monet-looking picture tonight; it's something I'd love to paint someday....

September 9th, 2010

Hunter Creek is the view we have from our house, but only by going down the hill can we see a sunset like this. That extra effort is hardly a chore anymore, as we get used to our sunset routine!

September 8th, 2010

I choose this picture for the last-minutes-of-the-day action going on. As for myself, I was very happy to have included this sunset as one of my last activities!

Tuesday, September 7, 2010

September 7th, 2010

There was too much fog to actually see the sun set tonight. But not so much that we couldn't enjoy a touch of peach-pink glow for just a few minutes....

Monday, September 6, 2010

September 6th, 2010

While walking our dog, Tony and I tried to decide how the cloud situation would be tonight for our sunset. It looked promising, and as you can see, everything came together beautifully!

September 5th, 2010

If I thought last night was cold and windy, tonight was triple that; I could hardly hold the camera still. Notice the waves in the harbor. And I wish you could have seen all the poor sea gulls trying to keep warm, with their feathers standing out in the wrong directions....

September 4th, 2010

Our half-hour sunset break was great, in spite of a freezing wind. It can't be the end of our tiny summer up here!

September 3rd, 2010

A solemn climax to a carefree day; a sunset draped with silky gauze.....

This little flash of sunset was taken from the South Jetty, featuring a pleasant trail leading to the beach. It's a favorite spot, where the locals watch the waves while they eat their lunches.

Our bridge, spread across a radient sunset, is the perfect backdrop to the mirror-like river below. To me, it couldn't be lovelier!
