June 17th, 2011

The ocean was irresistible, drawing us to a stop as we took the time to just observe....A quiet sunset. The night before Lowell's wedding.

Pat and I sure enjoyed taking pictures of this lazy summer Sunset...

May 27th, 2011

Isn't this just perfect?

May 25th. 2011

The Coquille lighthouse, to the right of that last burst of the sun's rays.....

May 17th, 2011

It's been a while since the rainy weather has paused long enough to allow a sunset like this-

April 29th, 2011

Even though I'm not trying to catch every sunset, now that my 1 year goal was reached, it's just as much fun when I do...

It was great having CLOUDS! They make all the difference in a sunset...Don't they?

Apriul 14th, 2011

A meandering creek emptying into an unusually calm ocean, the makings of a lovely sunset.

April 10th, 2011

Although the colors are soft, viewing this sunset was exceptionally enjoyable....

April 9th, 2011

Even though today was blue skies and puffy clouds, the dark clouds practically obscured our sunset. But not entirely!

Saturday, April 2, 2011

April 2nd, 2011

Still ice-cold with wind, but it felt good to get down to this beautiful sunset, after days of rain....

March 23rd, 2011

Not much of a sunset tonight, so this is from the 19th, my last glimpse as I drove home...

Saturday, March 19, 2011

March 19th, 2011

A quick jog down to the beach was rewarded with this calm sunset.....One of a kind.

Friday, March 18, 2011

March 16th, 2011

Tonight Pat and I got caught in a hailstorm, but we persevered and waited soaking-wet-freezing to get our pictures....Then we snuggled in bathrobes and drank hot coffee, which by then felt completely luxurious!

March 11th, 2011

The huge earthquake hit Japan this morning, which put our whole Northwestern Coast on tsunami warning. But by tonight we were reassured, and able to appreciate this sunset....

March 6th, 2011

This was taken a few nights ago, during a short break in extremely stormy weather. These bright pink clouds are delightful, spraying out from such darkness!

March 2nd, 2011

Can you believe that it's been a year since I started this blog? I'll be doing some this year, too, but I haven't got a plan yet. So this is tonight's smokey sunset:

February 26th, 2011

Seagulls could hover without moving much, the freezing wind almost holding them immobile. Still there were several of us waiting out this quiet sunset.

February 25th, 2011

A clear, icy-cold day, with a cool sunset. Tony and I, and the Andersons, braved that cold to get our pictures over at Kissing Rock.

February 22nd, 2011

Storming weather can't discourage me, not with the backlog of Sunsets I've collected. You wouldn't believe the number of pictures I'm capable of taking during a single lovely display of color....

February 24th, 2011

Even though I didn't feel well tonight, I had to see if those glorious clouds would live up to their promise; they did! A beautiful sunset.

February 20th, 2011

Tonight was heavy with clouds, just a glimpse of sunset. Looking at Hunter Creek, can you imagine what the sky looked like?

February 19th, 2011

I only had a few minutes to get this picture, but that little pause was much appreciated....

February 16th, 2011

Hail, rain, bitter cold, blustery sunset. What a nice day!

Tuesday, February 15, 2011

February 15th, 2011

It's a good thing Tony called me from Bandon, up the coast, to see if I was "Sunsetting". Actually, I was ironing, not giving it a thought, because it's been so awful and rainy today. Surprising, isn't it, how things work out?

February 12th. 2011

The wind whistled in my (warm) car window while I took this picture; an icy-cold storm is on it's way...

February 11,2011

Crisp winter weather has been gratifying after so much rain. This ocean sunset is something to be treasured.... appreciated!

Pistol River was the right place to be at sunset tonight! We admired every aspect as it progressed, glad to have the opportunity to live on the Northwest Coast.....

February 7th, 2011

I only had a minute, just enough time to check out this Pistol River sunset on the way home from Crescent City.

This is a picture of a recent sunset, reminding me again of that lovely evening....

February 5th, 2011

Nothing tonight. However, since I took a million pictures last night, we're OK....

February 4th, 2011

We drove up 101 with friends to try for a sunset and get some dinner. Who knew that we would happen upon such an absolutely magnificent view.

Wednesday, February 2, 2011

February 2nd, 2011

There were a dozen people walking down on the beach tonight, under this gorgeous sunset!

February 1st, 2011

Pat and I spent some time together as the harbor basked in the sunset's golden warmth. A giant harbor seal swirled in front of us, just enjoying himself in a perfectly contented manner.

January 31st, 2011

This weirdly foggy sunset was subtle, and had it's own way of helping us let go of this particular day; it was a vague wave of light accented by that questioning little bubble that looks like it should rest above a cartoon, don't you think?

Sunday, January 30, 2011

January 30th, 2011

A little drive up the coast, taking time for a walk, a coffee, and some sunset pictures.....

Friday, January 28, 2011

January 28th, 2011

Back home, a storm is blowing in. I thought maybe there would be gray cloud banks only, but we had a little extra glow tonight!

January 26th, 2011

We were able to catch this inland sunset as we got to our motel.

Wednesday, January 26, 2011

January 25th, 2011

Actually this is taken from the same spot, basically, as last night's sunset. Again, it was a pleasure to watch from beginning to end.

Monday, January 24, 2011

January 24th, 2011

Tonight we parked near Turtle Rock, in order to photograph it's serene reflections.

Friday, January 21, 2011

January 21st, 2011

This sunset habit has certainly been quite an undertaking, although I've found it is super worth the effort.

Wednesday, January 19, 2011

January 19th, 2011

A quiet evening for admiring another perfect coastal sunset.

Tuesday, January 18, 2011

January 18th, 2011

I did go down the hill as far as the creek, but the whole sky is steel gray. However, last night, when I crossed the creek on the way home from sunsetting, this is what it looked like;

January 17th, 2011

The docks were loaded with harbor seals when I was taking these pictures; a little scary, actually. But such a perfectly designed display of color!

January 16th, 2011

It rained all day yesterday, so I put in a picture I took today, up in Port Orford.

January 15th, 2011

This blaze of red was the last vestige of this gorgeous sunset, the brightest saved for last.

January 14th, 2011

This is a stunning version of a Gold Beach sunset, down at the harbor!

January 13th, 2011

Maybe these calm waters are meant to soften our day a little....

January 12th, 2011

Tony had my camera in the truck, so he took this Medford sunset for me. Thank you, Tony!
