October 31st, 2010

These sunset reflections in the water were also a reflection of my mood tonight; a complete relief from what's-been-going-on today.

Sometimes a sunset paints it's own picture.....

October 29th, 2010

It's a little after 5, and I'm getting kind of excited; after so many cloudless, or too densely clouded nights, it looks like there's going to be an extra nice sunset tonight! We'll see, within the hour........ Yes!!, and you wouldn't believe the pictures I took! What fun!

October 27th, 2010

This sunset is a later phase of October 2nd. Even the act of retrieving it from my unorganized archives brings back the fun of watching what kind of color it would reveal next!

October 26th, 2010

All the clouds are to the East today, beautiful white rounded mountains of clouds. The ocean is frothing huge white waves, throwing whole logs up on the beach. The day was enjoyably mild, as was our sunset.

I'd fallen asleep on the couch, so had to rush to get down to the beach. Friends drove by and said I'd missed the most gorgeous part of the sunset......which I didn't want to hear! But, as usual, it was worth the hassle to see what I could see.....

October 24th, 2010

Rain is here, but I checked out our sunset anyway. The dark clouds were hanging over a small crevice of sunset. Who would think that this lower picture could progress to the second in 10 minutes!

October 23rd, 2010

The sunset had faded, but the scene needed to be photographed, don't you think?

October 22nd, 2010

Although the rain is here, this blog continues.... recent sunsets still linger as I review these next few photos.

This is out of my archives, a different kind of sunset, one that I really am happy with.

Clouds shadowed with gold are a strikingly beautiful sunset, a brief prelude to the storm ahead.

We were enchanted with the difference it made being inland for the sunset tonight! That turquoise in the right lower corner eventually took over the sky, and those cobwebby clouds turned bright coral-colored...but I wasn't in a position to take another picture....

October 16th, 2010

Are there enough adjectives to adequately describe these flaming clouds that made up our sunset tonight?

October 15th, 2010

Tonight's sunset was so mild that I just had to perk things up a bit with another view taken October 12th. This was certainly one of our more lively presentations, color-wise.....

October 14th, 2010

This small glimpse of sunset was all the more welcome, considering that mass of dark clouds that was trying to squelch it....

A peach-pink sunset over a silver, frothy sea.....two people ending their day in our favorite way.....

October 12th, 2010

For all the nights when we take the time to check out the sunset and there isn't one, these over-kill- gorgeous evenings more than compensate! This is when I'm compelled to keep taking pictures, not about to miss any of it!

It's our same ol' harbor tonight, with a new edition of our sunset.

One of these seagulls was perched on the picnic table, keeping me company as we watched this tranquil sunset.....

October 9th, 2010

While returning home from Coos Bay today, we stopped for ice cream just as those clouds started to reflect a sunset hidden somewhere behind thick gloom. It was so fun to be able to photograph some not- quite- as- familiar seascape....

October 8th, 2010

It was raining today, but this is Bandon, taken on a day that was also dark and rainy. I was very surprised to see any pink that could be considered our sunset!

Nothing going on but a lot of bird activity. And one fisherman with his dog coming in. It's windy but not cold, and all in all, a delightful sunset.

The pastel remains of our sunset spreads over Kissing Rock, as it drifts gradually into night.

Looking out over a gunmetal gray ocean at an almost cloudless sunset, the wind blowing hard, I had to love living here on the Northwest Coast!

October 3rd, 2010

There was no reason to go down to the harbor or beach this evening, not when the creek down the hill from me looked so inviting. That sunset nestled itself right into it tonight, creating it's own little picture postcard...

October 2nd, 2010

My friend Kate told me that fall is usually the season with the best sunsets; I wasn't aware of that, since I only started paying attention March 1st. Tonight's lovely speckled display ended with a spectacular slash of color that I will post on some future foggy night.

October 1st, 2010

The ocean has had exceptionally high waves this week; the one hitting against the jetty on the horizon is probably 60 feet! No wonder this sea gull is happy to just sit on that rock and observe the sunset with me....

September 30th, 2010

This month is over, and we are being catapulted deeper into fall! My favorite season, with it's crisp weather and bright foliage. This will be my 8th month of sunset-watching.
